Sorry, it seems that the format changed since I posted last reply and now site appears not to be working at all. Will keep an eye on it and update when new format is working.
What is happening to this Village?! Rules and regs have no way of being enforced; unlicensed handymen are making and arbitrarily changing the building codes; businesses are being operated on units, common property is being given away to owners for their own use; amenity committees have unsupervised authority to do as they please with $ donated or raised and on and on. Have we created a fertile field for individuals who had no personal power in their lives before moving here to run amok? Why? Is it our structure as an unincorporated community? We allow ourselves to be steered by lawyers and builders who are not licensed in Texas and others who have no clue as to the culture here or connected enough to make anything but trouble for us. Isn't it time to position our Village as an entity that can enforce our rules, build according to Texas coastal codes, have qualified, licensed individuals overseeing our community? Haven't we paid the price REPEATEDLY for ill informed actions, ill gotten gains by selfish individuals, ill mannered behaviors by ill natured people? Are we doomed to an ill fated end? Perhaps Is it time we revisit becoming a municipality.
There is are 12 owners that got together in March each of us are going to talk to other owners and get together this fall and see what we are going to do put this is going to stop. So you are not a lone.
Re: #8 by the tone of your comment it would seem that you are new to LIV. there has been and will remain a building code and a building committee to administer it. The present committee is comprised of two, LICENSED in Texas, builders one retired engineer, one retired home builder that does not have a Texas license and the facilities manager. I suggest to you that rather than start rumors and street talk you get your FACTS straight !!!
Those licensed builders and engineer are in it to improve their business just like our past president and his pool chemical company.. What we all need to remember is this is south Texas where there is no law that can't be broken with a little kickback.
To the one who commented to their village folk above by telling them "they are flapping their gums"-Real mature and shows the depth of your thinking. I wonder how you are profiting from the rest of us as you seem to think all the illegal behaviors of the bullies here, who break every law, for their own gain is OK. By your rude comment one might think you are one of them.
Sure hope you invite other like minded people as it is clear that this is a big problem! Beware of the village snakes who will do all they can to undermine you...like the person who said you were flapping your gums, those Neanderthals will do the most vile and dishonest things you can imagine and it takes a very courageous person to challenge them. Good luck!
Two licensed WHAT? Is it a Texas coastal licensed retired engineer? Anyone can call themselves a builder and if not licensed in Texas, not what we need. The facilities mgr is not a licensed anything to my knowledge. So WHAT WE NEED IS A PROFESSIONAL LICENSED TEXAS COASTAL ENGINEER. What we have, for the most part, is self serving unprofessional people who want to make a social circle and status out of the position and change the rules to buy their way into social groups. And we all pay for it, you are new to the village if you are not aware of the law suits etc we have due to their actions.
Amen. Nothing will change if the good folk here don't step up and demand change. It is time to enforce the rules and find a way to govern that does not allow special interest people to gain power and when they do have them removed. Term limits are needed to ensure that kingdom building stops!
quite interesting to see you anonymous people bickering here wouldt be interesting to see you confront those you distrust face to face and do your accusing

Love the new picture Joey!! Ho Ho Ho
With no channel 18, no activity lists or newsletters available on the website or the office, how is one to know what is going on?

The link brings up an LIV rental site, but none of the links there work.

Any comments on the election? I think it was so poorly run and lack of rules followed that it is laughable! Anyone wanting to contest it sure could.

HATE IT! Makes concerned citizens look like cry babies! Please change it. :)
