A TIDBIT

Something stood out when reading our June’s Profit Loss summary. Total revenues increased less than 1% ($11,903) and each revenue center except Laundry (plus $74) was losing more money than this time last year, yet our net profit for the first six months this year was a quarter of a million ($258,244) better. These savings were made in the expense column.
Interesting to note that these savings matched the amount of the annual assessment fee increase that just started. Will this unexpected quarter of a million along with any future improvement that betters 2011 be used to reduce any assessments being charged to owners like dredging or road repair?

Great question or how about a condo fee reduction!

Don't hold your breath. Maybe someone can explain to me why we have (seemingly) substantial investment holdings. We are a nonprofit organization. I can understand having some savings held back but with the condo increase and (you know they are coming) future assessments why do we have so much $$ invested???

Is it possible to force the BOD to reverse the condo fee increase? It makes no sense that they had to push it through with the $ we have in savings!

From our bunch of thieves(BOD)? They looking for ways to enrich themselves and it ain't gonna work with a condo fee reduction!

To our board of directors. My wife and I use the swimming pool and hot tubs pretty much every day and almost every day I see people breaking then rules that are posted at the entrance to the indoor pool and at the outdoor pool next to the shower. Apparently they can read neither english nor spanish. I was thinking that posting the rules in the Navaho language would help, maybe somebody can read that. People think that the hot tubs are a kiddie pool and completely ignore the rule about no one under the age of 14 allowed in the hot tub. There is a rule that says no balls are allowed in the pool. This means nothing to many of our guests. The balls are flying and I don't like playing dodge ball in the pool. I was thinking, that since our guests cannot follow the rules, that the rules should be taken down and consigned to the garbage bins beside bathhouse #1, which by the way, are usually over flowing and starting to smell by the time they are due to be picked up. I was wondering, is our village so broke that we cannot afford to have garbage picked up before it over flows and starts to smell? Excuse me but I digress from the original intent of this post, the rules. I was wondering why there is no "pool police" in the pool area enforcing the rules.  There is no rule about consumption of alcohol at the pools and this needs to be addressed. I have see the excessive use of alcohol lead to arguments with our security, and screaming matches between two inebriated idiots and idiots dropping their bathing suit and exposing their ass (mooning) to someone they are arguing with, and children exposed to this and ignored by their parents, all because of alcohol! There should be no alcohol consumed in the pool areas! I have also seen people bring the music to the pool area and play it so loud that it is annoying. If people want music at the pool, they should be required to use their ear buds, or Bose noise canceling ear phones so no one else has to hear it! I hope our board of directors will take my comments into consideration.

This should be interesting since our BOD just voted to sell beer and wine in the pool area this summer. I can live with residents and renters bringing their own adult beverages but I question the wisdom of my HOA being the provider in a pool area where safety should be our number one focus. If someone could explain the upside of LIV HOA selling beer and wine in our pool area when we have so many kids in the pools during the summer. This seems like poor policy.
