the three bids (around $14K) for two new A/C units for the Rec. Hall.
There will be a June 23rd fishing event.

Could we put the LIV Financials each Month on your Site ? Our LIV Web Site seems to have a difficult time being current w/P/L's to view each month. Also, installing the Aramark Corporation Contract would help Owners understand how much we actually pay them w/hidden up charges!
While it would be easier and convenient, I think all the current info is available in the library, including the contract.
As you know we hold our annual board meeting on a Sat at 1PM. We do so because that is when the majority of owners are able to attend. It is estimated that between 48-70% of LIV owners live in the Valley. Approx. 35 owners decided to stand with owners that feel disenfranchised by the Wed meeting time and signed a request to change all meetings to Sat at 1 PM. This is a plain and simple request whose merit stands on its own, if this is when we hold the annual meeting it is when we should hold all meetings if we want the majority of owners to attend. I understand there is interest in changing the “meet the candidate” forum to Sat at 1 PM for the same reason.
If you agree with us that this is the right thing to do, please ask the board members to vote yes on the request.
Re: As you know…… Been there done that. The Board changed the meetings to Saturdays in 2009 for this very reason only to find that the Valley people didn’t show up. Let’s have it on Tuesday or Thursday evening at 6:30. That way everyone, the valley people, the Wed. morning golfers, and the people in the park who work all be given the opportunity to attend.
Just returned from the BOD coffee and even though 40 some owners requested the BOD meetings be changed to a Sat at 1PM, no BOD member made a comment or suggested it be added to the BOD agenda for a vote. When an owner at the end inquired why this was, one BOD member responded that it would be added. Another finally gave his opinion which was he did not want to give up his Sat. once a month to attend. Someone suggested that they did not want a yea or nay next to their name on the vote so owners could see who does or does not care about owner involvement. You can decide for yourselves what the motivation for ignoring the voice of 40 owners on one issue is all about. Again, when the BOD wants owners involved so they can rubber stamp that they had an annual meeting with a quorum, they hold it on a Sat at 1PM. To dispel the falsehood, " we tried it and no one came”, when they tried it, it was at 9AM on an inconsistent basis. The “meet the candidate” forum HAS been changed to a Sat. A logical, proven time for LIV meetings. Note to Joey, one of us will be happy to handle your recorder if you are unable to attend. I doubt that this will pass anyway but the purpose will be served by a vote.
Just so you know…a motion was made by a BOD member to try having BOD meetings Sat at 1 PM for a 4 month trail period (this was NOT the original request of the 40+ owners) but it was seconded and discussion included the following( not direct quotes but accurate) from BOD members: BOD meetings are for BOD business and even though it is nice if you want to come watch us, should be scheduled at the convenience of BOD members, to which one of the 2 sole yes voters replied, you were elected to serve the people, not your own interests. The no voters were rather united on this same thinking, with one member stating he would resign at the end of the meeting if the motion passed!
It was a roll call vote so you may check the minutes to see who supported the owners request and decide if you support their point of view. AND when folk bemoan the fact that few qualified owners run for the BOD, you know who to blame because the working class who are not self employed and therefore can’t make Wed. 9AM BOD meetings can not run for the BOD or even attend meetings. Until the notion that we are a community that is run by individuals who do so for their own interests and not for the greater good of the greater number, we will continue to see condo fees increase, assessments charged, by laws ignored or bent to suit their personal needs, management issues go unresolved, etc. AS LONG AS THEIR PERSONAL ISSUES ARE BEING MET, WHY ROCK THE BOAT!
More incidents of “double speak”. We hear we need Aramark for the use of their liquor license yet Aramark management is allowing golf committee members to sell alcohol at the pro shop when an Aramark employee is not there, as a matter of fact they also help out during busy times, pouring beer and wine. We hear we need Aramark’s buying power yet the General Manager STATED at the last BOD meeting that he is buying for the pool side grill from Sam’s Club to save $. And still we keep Aramark as our management company. How will the powers that be “spin” these recent events? Are we looking at another law suit with the situation at the pro shop? When will this “you scratch my back and I’ll scratch yours” management of LIV stop? We are all paying for this “look the other way” culture that continues to go on here.
Kudos to the People of Summer!! They donated $750 to the employee Christmas Party from the fishing tournament, a couple hundred to the golf beautification from their first summer dance and keep us alive in summer. Their presence and interest in our community is so positive and we love seeing their families enjoy summer fun. Thanks!
Is it true there is no BOD meeting in August? I guess there are no issues during HURRICANE SEASON that all the summer owners or full time residents might have that the BOD could hear about at Coffee with Directors or vote on at the ONCE a month BOD meeting. That also means that a BOD member is REQUIRED to only attend 8 meetings a year. Is the Annual Sat. meeting mandatory? Anyone have answers?
Shame on those who voted no! Sure hope the Valley owners now see through the phoney BOD directors.
What are they thinking????? I am sick of this type of management, those BOD members who know of the pro shop alcohol sales by golf drunks should be sanctioned by BOD and asked to step down. Massive misjudgement like this should NOT be tolerated.
Shows how much the BOD cares about the owners!
Renters don't pay enough!
