A TIDBIT

It appears the Board will discuss the needed repair to our roads and parking lots next Wednesday. If approved, it is rumored owners will see a $300 assessment. Apparently through positive lawsuit negotiations, this Board will now be able to discuss the necessary dredging of our canals. If approved, it is rumored owners will see a second $300 assessment. We will hear more details at the Regular Board Meeting next Wednesday.

Well if this board does discuss this prior to the winter texans return, and goes foward as you predict all hell will break out.

Then we'll vote this board out too!!!!

just remember one of our board members wants to increase our association dues 5% every year. More money to spend foolishly

There is life after LIV and by that I mean I and many of my friends won't take much more of the increase fee rip off.

OUR BOARD SHOULD HAVE HAD YEARS AGO A BUDGET THAT INCLUDED FOR EXAMPLE, $40-50,000 A YEAR SET ASIDE YEARLY IN AN ACCOUNT FOR ROAD REPAVING (NOT repairs). THEN, WHEN REPAVING BECAME NECESSARY, SPEND $150,000 FROM REPAVING ACCOUNT AFTER THREE YEARS FOR ROAD REPAVING OF BUDGETED FUNDS AND CONTINUE THE BUDGET PROCESS FOR FUTURE ROAD REPAVING. HECK, MY FAMILY HAS A BUDGET--WHY DOES NOT LIV HAVE A REALISTIC BUDGET?

You're right....it should have been done years ago...unfortunately, this board got stuck with some bad decisions. They also had to spend our road repair money fixing the Event Center roof. Now they have to take care of business. What I can't believe is they can now dredge & repair our roads for less than 1 million dollars. Isn't that what the former board wanted just to dredge??

Re: You're right...
The present Board is stuck with a lot of yuk stuff due to previous Boards & previous manager, the lack of taking care of maintenance of our Village. It's unfortunate that an assessment has to be done, but if these infrastructure items can be taken care of for a $600 assessment let's 'Git 'er DONE'!

Certainly we have many streets badly in need of repair.
We have yet to do any repair or repaving properly during all the years we have lived here. $300,000 doesn't seem like enough to do much of anything properly.
Are we going to once again throw our money away by trying to do repairs on the cheap?
I had hopes this board would do things more intelligently than the previous recent boards. Wrong.

jeesh....give 'em a chance. You are so anxious to find fault. How would you know what it costs to repair our streets...have you received bids on road repairs here in south Texas? Maybe you should define "properly" Do you want them to tear all the streets & parking lots out and start from scratch? Do you have a suggestion on a better strategy? The BOD consists of volunteers trying to do a good job. For the most part, this board isn't a bunch of "know it all's" & have been very receptive to suggestions. Before you jump at the chance to criticize.....how about trying to be a little more constructive & offer them some suggestions.
