No Quorum

Annual Meeting continues Saturday 12th

Annual Meeting opened with Gerry Schmidt nominated as chairman and announced they were about one hundred and forty registered voters short of having a quorum. I believe the credit must be given to the COOL GANG crowd. Through February they’ve contacted owners telling them their unfounded reasons on why not to vote. It may be their right to lobby against our Village from achieving a quorum, but costing our Village thousands in the process is not. There again when looking back on what they did to our Village in 2008, it seemed costing our Village money was never a concern. It is just hard to get your arms around their thinking for doing this. What do they gain? Practice maybe?

During the meeting’s one hour recess, a Mrs. Tate from the LMWD spoke on voting for the Bond Issue that had recently failed by just 72 votes. It’s being brought up again and if passed the bottom line is our tax rate stays the same and the Association avoids a 40% increase in water costs. An owner asked where a person could obtain an absentee ballot and Mrs. Tate said the answer will be forthwith on channel 18.

The Village auditor and GM gave their reports and the meeting resumed with no change in the registered numbers. Ramona Kantack Alcantara said the procedure would work like this; there will be a motion to adjourn until next Sat. at 10 am and no business can be conducted by members of the Board until a quorum is satisfied. Director Montalvo wanted it to be clear that we continue these meetings with Board members doing no business until we get a quorum and the election is satisfied. Once confirmed he asked if fellow Directors Pelletier and Gagan understood this.

An Owner was recognized by Chairman Schmidt asked if Vice President Pelletier is going to continue to ask owners not to vote. Chairman Schmidt ruled her out of order and Treasurer Steffensen immediately made the motion to adjourn the meeting until Saturday. Meeting was adjourned with quite a few disgruntled owners feeling a valid question was not answered. Ramona did answer a few more questions pertaining to next Saturday’s meeting.

It was a sad day for the LIV owners who do care about what's happening in the Village. It's a shame some owners are so willing to listen to untruths.
Come on people, register so business of LIV can continue.

WE NEED A NEW BOARD!!

This BOD is an EMBARRASSMENT!

First PB resigns because they don't want her to be president.

Then Bergsma calls the board nasty names & threatens to sue if they don't pick his high priced survey & dredging company.

Then we find out that some members of this BOD knowingly started paying PB for attending court on our behalf....& not telling the rest of the board.

And now...DP tells everyone "not to vote" because he wants to stay on the board & knows he won't be reelected.

OMG this board is so scary.....and what is even scarier..some people in this village think the crap they are pulling is OK.

It is time for a change. It is happening a little at a time. Unfortunately there are those who resist change and want thing like they were 20 years ago.

That meeting was a EMBARRASSMENT Well some of them are getting older ever day there time is getting shorter. Don't forget P.B. is not a owner. But we keep giving in to her and now we give her money.LOL

I have decided this Blog is a breading ground for trouble makers. It's not any better then the COOL whatever.. NO... at least they get it done. What ever their doing.
We need problem solvers desperately.

Just wondering if the people who chose not to register realize that meetings will continue until a quorum is reached.
That means
*if our attorney will be in attendance we will be paying her each time
*no business, motions from the floor, any type of voting can be conducted
*extra money spent on printings and mailings
Let's just get a quorum so LIVOA can continue its business!

Shame on those owners who did not participate in the election. This just shows they are not responsible citizens of LIV.

If you register to vote you should not be on any other committees in the village as you probably don't care about them either. The tactic you have used is high school behavior and you should be ashamed.

Understanding the boundaries and limitations of power is something that every board member needs to realize or else trouble including legal problems can result.

if you're going to be on a board, you are basically a sacrificial lamb. You don't get paid for it, but by serving you are providing a service It’s not only a way to protect your investment, but also your quality of life.
Where is our quality of life???

BOARD MEMBERS have to learn what being on a board means, not to overstep their bounds. And these board members have definitely over stepped theirs!

We are feeling the backlash of a board who can't work together. The investors that occupy a seat have been here for years!!! Has our investment gotten any better??? NO! We have watched it deteriorate and monies spent on the lowest of priorities !

Passing the baton to the NEW board will not be a smooth transition.
We have to find a way to support them. This not a quick fix..it has to be a start to a better way!!

re: I don't know

Nice word defugalties. I got a better idea than the flaxen cupcake, let’s get rid of a few of these fruitcakes first.

The blond cupcake on the board? MS may not be the best treasurer we ever had, but I would never call her a cupcake!

RE: defugalties

I am not writing about the value of YOUR property! I'm writing about the condition of the LIV.
It's a mixed bag a property value. On the most part property values is down. While taxes are up.
We cant get the taxes lowered because the town raised the mill rate. Therefore preventing a stream of property owners to have their taxes reduced!

The boards neglect to save OUR money for OUR needs such as water pipes, sewer pipes, roads roofs, a more efficient watering system, pump stations, solar panels for heating our pools.
As property owners we take care of our own. We try to use the best technology available. We follow codes in construction. We shop for the best prices. We even give prizes for the best looking properties.
The board takes our money with ease and spends it's at their convenience on things they want when, they can agree. Sometimes breaking their own rules in following protocol .

Give pencil patty a chance.....she really may know what she is talking about. Everyone deserves a chance.......& and MS will be teaching her. It is a win - win!
