RENTERS COSTING OWNERS A TRUCKLOAD!

In 2008 Hurricane Dolly struck our Village. The loss revenue insurance check came so late it had to be posted in the 2009 Rental Office revenues. The Rental Office had to post a non-adjusted 2008 P&L that showed a deplorable loss of $25,932.
In 2009, peel away that 2008 insurance check and one sees an intolerable Rental Office loss of $25,223 that had no hurricane interruption.
In 2010 our Rental Office was again minus the hurricane but showed a 30% worse performance when it posted a whopping $35,611 loss.
Treasurer Steffensen has recently said something needs to be done about the Rental Office. Owners only hope that is in the process with now having a new Board.
Everyone knows this wrongly defined amenity has never followed the clearly defined Declaration of Covenant guidelines and never will. Unlike other amenities, it uses the money from one owner to profit another and except for golf; it allows renters the right to invite other non owners into our Park to enjoy every amenity we have for free. While renters and their friends are enjoying these amenities for free, the owners who are profiting by it and any member of their sib are still free to enjoy all the amenities at the same time.
Many non-renting owners are tired of subsidizing rental profiteers through this Rental Office loser that fails to obey our Village guidelines and feel there are but two choices, make it profitable or close it.

Your suggestion is?

CLOSE IT!

Any business that doesn't make a profit does not stay in business long. How long are we going to let this business drain our non-renting owners?? Closing it only makes sense!!

Get real Close it now!!!!!!

We are fools to have let it go this far.

Look at the laundry and garbage company a discrase thanks to our former Aramark manager LD.

Aramark should reimburse us for the incompedent deals LD made.

As an owner I want a full explaination of the facts and circumstances surrounding the departure of our former manager LD.
This is not a personel matter since LD was an employee of Aramark and I'm sure that our past President was told the reason by Aramark and we need to know the truth.

You people are absolutely ridiculous . Why do you continue to go backwards?
3/4 of the posts absorbed in this micro space are not directed to a positive future..

I know we have to vent and this is a perfect medium to release frustrations.

I'm sure we all know each other. Sometimes I think your all the same people!

I am realizing.. I am not frustrated with LIV as I am with this BLOG. I am looking to go forward. Reading this stuff put me in a different place. The conversation is indeed stimulating! But its pissing me off. I want to be part of a intelligent solution! Not a rotting past!

You have to hate someone to want to hurt him with lies. Insincere talk brings nothing but ruin.

first I will say I am not an LD fan.

when I came here 10 years ago we had , I blieve BFI for garbage service, then the board instructed LD to seek bids and RR was lower so we switched. now the last board decided to take this company after Rick found a better deal.

RE: You people are absolutely ridiculous

I feel the reason why the posts in this blog are not directed towards a positive future is because they are exposing current Village problems that are in the present. What you perceive as venting or frustration is to me more like a concern and things of concern my “go forward” friend should put you and everyone else in a different place, away from our perfect world. If you really want to be part of an intelligent solution, quit calling people ridiculous and ask the Board to put you on a new Rental Office Committee to solve this Rental Money Pit problem? It’s interesting that you chose the words “rotting past”, quite revealing.

Why not put a suggestion box out for all to view pertaining JUST TO THE RENTAL OFFICE. Print out some ballots.
Set the box out for a year. You can set a few boxes in various places Your name and lot # has to be on the ballot to be counted.

Lets see just how many people are interested in the rental office.

It has never been clear to me how the rental office makes or loses money.

We are clear on the downfalls of putting our property in the rental office.
We rent our property substantially less then the office charges . We lack the knowledge how one property get chosen over another.

If we need cleaning..it is much easier for us to hire and deal with ONE person, then it would be to deal with the rental office.

If we have a complaint on a unit being dirty or not up to par.
Who do WE turn to for service???? The OFFICE??.

Perhaps just having an LIV CLEANING SERVICE independent of the OFFICE. I checked around in town for a service I couldn't find one.

There are women who come to the LIV to clean units . They get work there just from word of mouth.

What I know now ... I would say the Rental office should go! Why???
Because I don't need the service, I don't trust the service. And it really doesn't have a positive rep.

Enlightens us ... why do we need a Rental Office?
